Organisational Capacity Assessment and Institutional Review

Most of these assignments have been initiated by the funding agencies and a few by the concerned organizations
Purpose of these exercises included:

  • Enable development partner (s) make decisions as regards to financial support to the concerned organisation implement its (strategic) plans
  • Means for organisational development and strengthening action plans
  • Determine the capacity of an organization as a basis for technical and financial assistance and planning
  • Guide interventions and determine project impacts and action plans
  • Enable organization identify of areas of support and collaboration with other organizations including donors

Methodology/Approach

Conventional and Very participatory methods including:

  • Documentation Review
  • Debriefing sessions: before the exercise begins and power-point presentation of preliminary findings
  • Semi-structured face-to-face interviews
  • Consultations and discussions with a wide range of stakeholders: management, donors and CSOs
  • Questionnaires
  • Stakeholder interaction on the findings of the assessment with the Management
